袁秀堂，男，中国生态学会会员，中国海洋与湖沼学会会员。2005年获中国科学院研究生院（海洋研究所）海洋生物学理学博士学位，2014-2015年英国普利茅斯大学海洋研究所（MIUoP)及普利茅斯海洋研究室（PML）访问学者。研究聚焦于人类活动(如增养殖活动、污染）和气候变化（海洋酸化及变暖）对海洋生物及生态系统的影响。主持国家自然科学基金“刺参对浅海浮筏贝类养殖系统的生物修复作用研究(30871932)”,“刺参早期发育对海洋酸化及变暖的生态响应和基因调控(41676164)”，国家海洋公益专项子课题“辽东湾生境与重要经济生物资源修复技术集成及示范(200805069) ”和“典型海湾受损生境修复生态工程和效果评价技术集成与示范(201305043)”等项目。已发表论文40余篇，引用超过1300次。为Science of Total Environment, Marine Ecology Progress Series, Marine Pollution Bulletin, PLoS ONE, Aquaculture, Aquaculture Research, Electronic J.
